EMMA
Emma was born right after the Union of Italy, later on she passed through the two World Wars, her house was burnt by German troops at the end of WorldWar II.
Behind her sweet smile, she was believed to be a very severe woman although we know she had surely got a poetic soul, she loved flowers, her natural garden never lacked of seasonal plants, vegetables, fruit trees, berries. Rosmary, sage, lavender, cloves, hyacinths, lemons, violets, scented the air all around.
During her childhood she used to live partly in Perugia, partly in a huge country house overlooking the perugino Tiber Valley. Later on she moved in the surroundings of Umbertide, upon the Upper Tiber Valley.
Her large country house was always opened to guests, and her yummy meals have always been memorable. She was truly fond of good cooking and good eating, along with a special care in hosting people and her passions have been inherited by three generations, so far! During her last years, she used to be awake at night and started writing many useful cookbooks that we keep as a rare treasure.
We would like to share with you recipes from Emma's Cookbook, along with some good old sayings, caught from her scripts, certain that she would appreciate the new ways of communication.
