EMMA'S COOKBOOK


This section is named after my greatgrandmother Emma, who left us a whole collection of handwritten recipes enriched by old sayings and wise advice. Here you can find old seasonal recipes. Write to customize a menu to impress your friends for special events.

 

 

SLOW COOKING IN UMBRIA

What is a slow cooking experience: you learn how to cook through your senses (watch your creations on the table, touch fresh fruits from the garden, hear the soups grumbling on the stove, smell the good flavours floating in the kitchen and taste genuine food) and how to enjoy with creativity, the use of simple, basic ingredients, herbs, seasonal and local products. You may find out how funny is using your hands cutting and stirring instead of turning on modern devices.



In each lesson you prepare Umbrian traditional recipes, family recipes, some Italian traditional dishes.

    • What you can select:
    ONE DAY COOKING CLASS
    4 hours hands-on cooking class, preparation of a multiple-course meal.

    Programm one day: arrival at country home at 10:00.Visit the "orto", the family garden, learn about herbs, bushes, pick up fresh vegetables. Hands-on cooking lesson. Lunch. Departure in the afternoon. On request: transfer from/to train station/Visit of a shepherd, a farmer, oil producer.


    LONG WEEKENDS
    4 hours hands-on cooking lessons for 3 or 4 days. You may combine the cooking class with one or more tour or walking tour. If you have not an accomodation have a look at our selection! Cooking lessons will be right at your rental.
